Service Description
Led by ceramics artist Gabrielle Stratman, this eight-week program introduces kids to the diverse world of ceramic arts. Students will explore various techniques including clay sculpting, hand-building, slab rolling, and relief work. Projects are designed to accommodate different skill levels, allowing beginners to learn fundamental skills while enabling more experienced artists to advance further. In collaboration with Mill Pond Ceramics Studio, students' work is fired and made food-safe for functional use, providing children with an immersive experience in learning the entire ceramics process. Throughout the program, students will experiment with multiple glazing techniques to add color, design, and mark-making to their ceramic pieces. This hands-on experience not only enhances artistic skills but also fosters creativity and self-expression through clay.
